Welcome to KCNR
What the server is, how to join, register and recover an account, and what you start with.
Kar’s Cops and Robbers is soft roleplay with arcade edges: a city run the way roleplay servers run theirs, with jobs, property, police and crime, but without strict roleplay rules to learn first. You can work, rob, police, race or fish, and switch between them.
Joining
Open FiveM and connect to cfx.re/join/gaezxq. The first screen is the login: register an account there, or log in to the one you have.
Your account name is your FiveM name. The server reads it as you connect and decides whether you get a login or a registration card: a name it knows gets the login, a new one gets registration. To play under another name, change your FiveM name and connect again. The login card also shows the latest release notes, so you can see what changed since you were last here.
You are turned away before anything downloads if:
- your FiveM name is empty or longer than 32 characters;
- the account is disabled;
- somebody is already connected under that name;
- you are banned (the reason is shown to you);
- too many players are already connected from your address. Staff set that limit, and it can be off.
Registering
On a new name the card asks for a password and, if you like, an email:
| Rule | |
|---|---|
| Password | 5 to 32 characters, typed twice |
| Optional, up to 64 characters. Without one, you can’t get a recovery code by email |
Staff can limit how many accounts one address, or one Rockstar licence, may register. If you are over it you are told how many already exist and asked to log in with one of them.
Recovering an account
Choose Forgot your Password? on the login card:
- A six-digit code is emailed to the address on the account. The card shows the address with most of it hidden, such
as
ab****@host, so you can tell which inbox to open. - Type the code and a new password (5 characters or more, typed twice). The code is good for an hour. Asking again sends a new code and the old one stops working.
- If the account has no email, the card tells you to contact an admin through the website.
Add an email when you register: it is what recovery depends on.
Your character
Each account has one character. You make it in the character creator: gender, parents, features, hair. Nothing is saved until you press Save, and you can’t leave without saving.
The creator is a one-time visit. You can’t reopen it, so the character you build is final unless staff reset it. What you can change is what you wear, at a clothing store. When you step out of the creator with nothing on yet, you are dressed in one of GTA’s own complete outfits, picked at random, with no jewellery, mask, bag, armour or hat.
Where you start
A new character lands on the arrivals deck at Los Santos International Airport, facing the exit. After that you come back where you logged out, or in your house once you own one and set it as your spawn.
Everybody starts as a civilian, with nothing: no money, no car, no job. There is no team picker. Police, medic and firefighter are jobs you sign up for later, at a desk in a police station, hospital or fire station.
For your first 15 minutes nobody can hurt you, and you can’t shoot or rob either. The walkthrough turns that protection off when it reaches its last step. Every time you spawn you also get 10 seconds of protection, which ends early if you draw a weapon.
If you die
The whole server is told. Everybody sees a chat line saying who died, who killed them, and with what: the weapon’s name, a gang’s name beside it when one of its members did it, “run over by” a car, “crushed”, a police officer, a civilian, an animal, or misadventure for a fall or a drowning. You see a WASTED banner with the cause. Every kill and death counts toward the leaderboards. If you were cuffed, the cuffs come off.
You come back at the nearest hospital after 8 seconds (3 during a Purge). Everything that happens, in order, is on Death and respawn. If you died right beside that hospital, you come back at the next nearest one instead, so you never wake up beside whoever killed you. You appear on the hospital grounds, and a notice says you were discharged from it by name.
The hospital bill is 2% of the cash you are carrying, at least $50 and at most $1,000, and never more than you have. Chat shows the hospital’s name and the amount, in green. See Chat and Discord for the rest of chat.
There is no revive. If you were in jail, you go back to your cell.
Next: Your first hour, the walkthrough that teaches the basics and gives you your first money.
