Medic
Answer 911 calls, treat the patient, and get them to a hospital before time runs out.
Opens: From the start, if you're not wanted
Join at the desk of any hospital (see Joining a team). Every hospital but Eclipse Medical Tower has a garage that hands out an Ambulance or the Lifeguard truck, free, one every 5 seconds.
A call, start to finish
-
Drive a medic vehicle yourself. Calls only come to the driver. Every 2 minutes dispatch sends a 911 card with the district and the distance: an Ambulance gets calls on land, the Lifeguard truck on the beaches.
-
Press Y within 35 seconds to take it. A patient blip and a waypoint appear.
-
Get out at the scene. The patient menu offers the one treatment they need:
Patient Treatment Overdose Naloxone Cardiac arrest CPR Broken bones Medication -
Watch the Patient Health bar. Left untreated it drains a little faster than the clock, so the patient dies before time is up. Treating them puts 40 of their 100 health back.
-
Put them in the back, with your vehicle close by.
-
Drive to the nearest hospital, which gets its own blip and marker, and enter the marker in the vehicle.
The clock is 5 minutes, plus one more for each whole kilometre from you to the patient and on to the hospital.
A call fails if the clock runs out, you die, the patient dies, or the vehicle is wrecked. A failed call pays nothing.
Pay
| A patient delivered | $600 + $0.15 a metre (your drive to the patient plus the drive to the hospital), into your paycheck |
| During a Purge | Double |
| XP | 90 a patient delivered |
There’s one rank title, Paramedic, and medic rank doesn’t open anything yet, but every point counts toward your total level.
Tips
- Treat first. The health bar, not the clock, is what usually ends a call.
- A longer call pays more and gives you more time.
- J silences the siren of an emergency vehicle you drive, like the Ambulance, while its siren is on.
