The pimp

Work the corners for the pimps outside the clubs. The first job you can share with a friend, and the pay climbs with your civilian level.

Opens: Civilian level 1, rungs up to level 15

When you can start

You must be a civilian and not on another job, in a stick-up, cuffed, being arrested, in jail or robbing: a contact won’t talk to anyone else. The first job opens at civilian level 1, and the harder rungs open with civilian level. The early jobs need no vehicle; Client pickup needs a car with a spare seat, and VIP Escort a car with two passenger seats.

How to start

There are three contacts: on the Vanilla Unicorn corner, behind Bahama Mamas, and on Orchardville Ave in La Mesa. Their blips are on the map all day, faded by day and bright from 19:00 to 06:00 game time. Walk up and press Y:

  • Ask for work: he picks a job from what your level has opened;
  • Help (name): join a job somebody else is already running, if it’s still open and has room;
  • the whole ladder, with what locks each rung: a rung shows Level N, or Night only when it’s daytime.

Which of the three men stands on which corner is shuffled every time the server restarts.

How it works

  1. He names the street and the fee. Go and deal with it. Every job has a clock: time for the drive out, plus more for the harder kinds of job. Run out and the job fails.
  2. When the work’s done, press Y to ring him, or he rings you after 15 seconds. The cash lands as the call ends. If the call drops, the 15 seconds start again and you’re told to ring him again.
  3. He offers the next job on the phone. Until your wait is over the bar says he’s setting it up, and the key does nothing. Then he holds the job for a short while: Y takes it, H (shown once he’s ready) turns it down. The offer goes to everyone in the crew. It’s the rung above the one you just did, if your level opens it; at the top of the ladder it’s a random one other than the one you just did. It still needs your level, the night for night-only jobs, and the wait to be over.

On screen you’ll see bars for TIME LEFT, YOUR CUT (your share given the crew so far) and CREW once anybody joins, and on a VIP night ENEMIES (red, during the ambush), BLEEDING and a countdown for the booking. After the call, chat tells you what you did, where, how far and how long, then “Your cut of a crew of N” from the pot and your XP, and a “JOB DONE” banner shows. Every enemy you fight has a red dot on the map.

The horn (VIP Escort). If you’re the driver and have been parked near the stop for a few seconds while the job waits for him or her, a “Sound the horn for them” button appears. Press it and the pull-up point moves to where your car is, and they walk out to you.

The ladder

Job Civilian level What you do Fails if
Trouble on the corner 1 A man is hassling one of the girls. He turns on the first of you who gets close, or the first to aim a gun at him: usually with fists, otherwise a bottle or a knife. Pull a gun and he usually runs, though now and then one stands his ground. She’s killed
Collect the earnings 3, night only Three corners. E on each girl and she counts the money out over 4 seconds. She hands over nothing while a mugger is on his feet, and many corners have one. Any of the three is killed
Rival on the block 5 Another pimp, his girl and one or two men. Get close or aim a gun and the whole corner comes at you. Only he has to go, and a gun sometimes scares him off. Hurting his girl changes nothing. Time, or your death
Client pickup 8 Pull up next to her and stop; she takes the front seat. Drive her to the client’s door and stop there. The booking lasts 45 seconds, and somebody has to stay near the door (you get a few seconds’ grace if you drive off). Sometimes the client won’t pay: some fight, the rest run; beat him or pull a gun to get paid in full. Then take her home. She’s killed, or you drive off and leave her
Hold the turf 11 Two girls on a corner. Three waves come at you on foot, each a few seconds after the last one is down. Both girls are killed
VIP Escort 15 Collect him, collect her, and drive to a hotel. Stay near the hotel while they’re inside. Deal with whatever comes out, then take him home. He dies, you lose him, you drive off and leave her, or he bleeds out

Every job also fails for you if time runs out, you die, or you walk away from it with /mission leave. It pays you nothing and you wait 45 seconds before the next one, even if you were the one who left. If anyone is still in, the rest of the crew carry on.

Jobs open to the crew until the fight starts. A friend can join a job until the trouble begins (the man turns, the corner turns, the first wave arrives), and again only until the work is done and just the call is left. Only civilians can join.

A VIP night. Collect him (a doorway or the front step of a house), then her (a kerb corner, or sometimes a house), and drive to a hotel a way on (a real motel, apartment block or hotel, named on the map). Watch them go in, then wait. How long they’re inside tells you how the night went: up to a minute and a half on a quiet night (the bar emptying means they’re on their way down), much shorter if something went wrong. What comes out:

What comes out How often What to do Share of the fee
A quiet night Most often Take him home 100%, and tips
He storms out angry Fairly often He may swing, and may come out undressed. Two punches calm him (or enough damage, or 25 seconds). She gets in by herself 75%
She runs Sometimes She runs off. Catch her inside 45 seconds and she gets in; let the clock run out and she’s lost 60%
He comes out bleeding Sometimes He bleeds slowly (a BLEEDING bar shows). Get him to the nearest hospital first, then home. If he bleeds out the job fails 60%
She defended herself Rarely Get her back safe 90%

Only a quiet night can be followed. On a quiet night, often, a few cars of armed hitters appear behind you on your own road, partway through the drive home. They only get out once you’ve stopped near one of their cars; drive off and they get back in. Stop and they come on foot; get well clear of all of them and they’re gone. An ENEMIES bar counts how many are left. Kill them all and he tips $2,400 to $5,600. A quiet night with no ambush sometimes tips $800 to $2,200. Tips show as their own green line.

Pay

The fee is the base plus $0.30 a metre from the contact to the first stop, plus 1% for every civilian level, up to 50%.

Job Base Civilian XP
Trouble on the corner $800 50
Collect the earnings $1,600 80
Rival on the block $2,400 110
Client pickup $2,000 (70% if the client never paid) 120
Hold the turf $3,600 160
VIP Escort $6,000, plus tips, less any share for a bad night 220

For example: Trouble on the corner 1 km out, at level 1, pays $1,111. A VIP job 1.5 km out pays $7,418 at level 15, and $9,675 at level 50.

Between jobs there’s a short wait that grows a little for each one you run back to back, and resets if you stop for a while. Every paid crew member gets the wait. After a failure it’s 45 seconds.

With a friend

Every job takes two people. A friend joins three ways: your party (/party) gets a card the moment you take it; any civilian who comes near the scene gets a card (/jm joins); or the contact’s Help row. The pot grows by half the fee and is split evenly, so two of you get 75% each, and each gets the job’s full XP. The fee is set by the level of whoever took the job, so the friend needs no level at all. /mission leave takes you out. The scene’s card goes to any civilian near wherever the job currently is, and the circle follows the job from leg to leg. A friend who joins too late to be cut in sees “You joined too late to be cut in”. A job with two of you paid counts as a job with another player for the work board; a party card is the same card as a party invite, so you only see one at a time (see Groups and parties).

Tips

  • Ring him as soon as the work’s done. Nothing is paid until the call ends.
  • Collect the earnings is only offered from 19:00 to 06:00 game time. A game hour is two real minutes.
  • Bring the right car: one spare seat for a client pickup, two for the VIP.
  • On a VIP night, killing the hitters pays the big tip. Outrunning them doesn’t.

Being paid for all six jobs earns the Certified Gigolo achievement (see Achievements and leaderboards). Only jobs paid since 2 October 2026 count towards it.

If you leave a job, you still wait 45 seconds before taking another.
